Join us on the first Friday of the month for Game Night at the Museum. Bring one of your favorite game to share, or come and learn a new game. This family-friendly evening will have multiple tables for all levels and interests. Monthly specials include artifacts on display from the museum’s game and toy collection and a chance to learn a featured old-fashions game. Join us on March 1st, April 5th, and May 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Poetry on Our Porch Poetry read out loud, shared with others and discussed are the makings of a perfect Sunday afternoon. Each month we’ll invite a few community members to share a poem or two before inviting guests to read a selection of their choice. Held the first Sunday on the month at 2:00 pm. The Western Illinois Museum invites the public to help create a Broadside Mural on three Saturdays beginning on April 13th.  Other dates include Saturday, July 13th and Saturday, August 10th, and work sessions will be held from 9:00 am to noon. Museum staff and volunteers will be on-hand to assist those wishing to help; no experience is necessary. Children ten and up who are accompanied by an adult are welcome.
