Avon, IL‘s Bill Maloney owns Neff Co., which sells John Deere products in the village. He originally brought camels to town as a promotion for John Deere Day, after seeing some on a farm during a business trip to Missouri. Bill fell in love with the animals, and soon after decided to buy some camels of his own. Now you can see his Bactrian (two humps) and Dromedary (one hump) Camels of Avon as you drive by his farm on the north edge of town on Route 41. Just another reason why Forgottonia is so unforgettable.
