Grill On Market Street

A fixture in downtown Colchester for over a century and a quarter, the building at the corners of Fulton and Market streets has acted as the village’s unofficial town hall though its hosting of a number of eateries over the decades. The latest of which is the aptly named Grill on Market Street.

In the lore of Forgottonia dining history, The Grill on Market Street boasts quite a restaurant pedigree. In the 1960’s the owner’s family opened and ran Macomb‘s beloved Pagliai’s Pizza. Affectionately remembered as “Pag’s” the restaurant has become legend in the hearts and stomachs of the region’s locals. Now with the Grill on Market they begin a new chapter with a morning and midday menu featuring delicious traditional regional diner fare, like hot, fresh breakfasts the way you like it, with omelets, skillets and biscuits & gravy. And for lunch the region’s favorite handmade, deep fried Pork T sandwiches or the loose meat “Maid-Rite” style sandwiches. Steamed and spiced lean ground beef spilling over the sides of a soft fluffy bun, the “Maid-Rite” is traditionally MOP’d, that is topped with mustard, onion & pickle (don’t ask for ketchup unless you want to appear a novice.) Or you can try another one of their mouthwatering regional treats, the Horseshoe, with the Grill’s own unique Italian twist.

The Grill on Market Street‘s supper menu places the emphasis on their restaurant’s roots, with more traditional Italian foods like their irresistible Spaghetti dinners and legendary thin and crispy Pizzas. The menu also features a beer and wine selection.

Dine in or carry out, The Grill on Market Street is open Monday thru Friday with a taste of the region that will take your tastebuds on a trip down Memory Lane.
