The McDonough County Courhouse centers the town square of Macomb.  It was build in 1872 at a cost of $155,370.  A renovation in 1978-1979 helped to preserve the original stone and brick exterior and the walnut and oak interior.  The building still serves the needs of the people as the center of county government.
