About Us

The Macomb Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is a nonprofit organization began in July of 1988. The CVB is responsible for bringing in and assisting with conferences and conventions while also organizing local events. Some of the major groups attracted have been the National Forensic Association, the State Council of Illinois Square Dance Association, Rotary District, and the Northern Nut Growers Association just to name a few. Macomb Heritage Days, Balloon Rally, and Barnacopia are events that the CVB helps organize each year. The CVB is also involved in sporting events as a primary player and helped in securing the St. Louis Rams Summer Training Camp for nine years, 1996 – 2004.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Macomb Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is to promote the service area as a destination for overnight visitors.

At Present:

The Convention & Visitors Bureau is currently working to bring Macomb its first ever Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Assistance is also being given to host the African Literature Association’s Conference in 2008 on the campus of Western Illinois University.
